Discover hotspots in Munich.

Are you in Munich for a longer period of time for business or pleasure and want to surprise visiting family or friends with exciting trips? Then we have some great excursion destinations and sightseeing options for you here. Discover the best hotspots in Munich and be prepared when visitors are announced. From cultural attractions to modern hotspots and outdoor activities, we show you how to get to know and experience Munich to the fullest.

Explore Munich with the whole family

You have decided to move to Munich due to new projects, assignments or professional changes? Now you are planning to host friends and family and go on trips together? There are numerous attractions that you should definitely show them. One holiday – many different demands. Combining them all is often not so easy. Munich, however, makes it as easy as possible. Because Germany’s southernmost metropolis is highly multi-faceted. As multi-faceted as the possibilities for eating the world-famous Weißwurst.

Start the day with a walk through the English Garden, which is one of the largest city parks in the world and has some highlights to offer with the Chinese Tower and the Japanese Tea House Garden. Afterwards, explore the city centre and visit Marienplatz, where you’ll find the New Town Hall and the famous “Glockenspiel”. From March to October, it can be seen at 11am and 12pm and at 5pm.

Programme and details of the carillon

Afterwards, you can stroll straight on to the Ratskeller. The ambience is really rustic and the menu offers all kinds of traditional specialities. We recommend booking a table. You can also visit the city comfortably and easily on a Segway. Be it the narrow alleys, Munich’s boulevards or the green spaces in the English Garden, with the Segway you can see every corner of Munich.

If you like shopping, you have the best shopping opportunities in the city here. To end a relaxing walk, we recommend visiting the Hofbräuhaus, one of the oldest beer halls in the city, where you can enjoy typical Bavarian dishes and beer.

Fun in Munich for the whole family

Munich offers a variety of sights and exciting excursion destinations for the whole family. For example, visit Hellabrunn Zoo or Poing Wildlife Park and experience the fascinating animal world up close.

The Poing Wildlife Park is an adventurous event for the whole family, with an area of over 57,000 m2, you have the opportunity to observe native game species up close. There is also something for the little ones among us, whether it’s sheep, goats or ponies – they can be easily stroked and even fed. In the middle of the park there is the possibility to have a snack at fixed wooden tables. During the break, the little ones can let off steam in the huge adventure playground.

Take a walk along the Isar and enjoy the picturesque landscape of the city. Other highlights are our famous surf waves in Thalkirchen and at the Eisbach, which you should definitely check out, or you can surf directly yourself.
If you want a bit more action, why not visit the Olympic Park, where you can climb, swim or even whizz across the Olympic Stadium on the Flying Fox – the speedy zip wire. From heights of over 200 metres, you’re sure to miss nothing.

Attention football fans!

The football club FC Bayern shapes this city with all its pride. Its club history can be seen in the museum in the arena. Either with an interesting tour through the Allianz Arena or through the museum, there is something for everyone. An unforgettable experience that should not be missed.
