These are our top 5 Christmas markets in Munich

Marienplatz
The classic among Munich's Christmas markets should not be missing from our top 5 and has rightly taken first place in our ranking. Against the backdrop of Munich's town hall, you can find everything your Christmas heart desires at around 160 stalls, and has been doing so since the 14th century! This makes the Christmas market on Marienplatz one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe. Incidentally, there is a special Christmas post office in the town hall for younger visitors 😉
Isar Gate
Especially for the Advent season, a huge kettle is set up at this Christmas market, which supplies hot and delicious Feuerzangenbowle until the New Year. With a capacity of 9,000 liters, it is of course a real crowd-puller and the Feuerzangenbowle tastes even better. This year's supporting program once again includes an exhibition entitled "Da bin I dahoam - da kim I her", which shows pictures of people who came to Munich as foreigners to find their second home here. #cominghome
The fairytale bazaar
This year, the fairytale bazaar has found a new and wonderfully fitting home in the Kreativquartier on Leonrodplatz. Artists, performers and colorful circus tents provide the backdrop for this special Christmas market, where you can dance, feast and stroll. Live concerts are held daily in the circus tents under fairy lights and by candlelight. This Christmas market is a wonderful place to stroll through, be inspired by the fairground buildings and immerse yourself in a fairytale world. Wonderful.
Sendlinger Tor
The Christmas market at Sendlinger Tor has also been a tradition since 1886. In addition to delicacies and Christmas treats from all over the world, the highlight of this market is the Schwabing tower brass band, which demonstrates its skills every Sunday between 5 and 7 pm. With its international touch, it is an absolute must for us and always worth a visit!
Pink Christmas
A contrast to the traditional market at Sendlinger Tor can be found at Stephansplatz. Under the motto "Pink Christmas", this whimsically beautiful Christmas market is taking place in the heart of Munich for the 13th time. The market is of course a little smaller but all the more colorful and the stalls offer all kinds of shrill and kitschy things for a slightly different Advent season. Another highlight: every evening from 7 pm there is a live program with chansons, musical cabarets or travesty shows.
We at TIMEHOUSE wish you a great Christmas season and hope that you have lots of fun and enjoyment during your visits to this year's Christmas market. And if you are still looking for suitable accommodation for your visit to Munich, you are sure to find it at TIMEHOUSE.
