Munich in ball fever

 

There are several opulent balls in Munich in January. The highlight is at events such as the "Oide Wiesn Citizens' Ball" (13.01.2024), which revives the atmosphere of times gone by. This is where guests meet in magnificent costumes to dance and celebrate together. Another highlight is the "Soirée of the Munich carnival society Narrhalla" (20.01.2024), which celebrates the carnival season in all its glory with its festive splendor and exuberant atmosphere. The Munich Symphony Orchestra creates an equally impressive performance especially for the "Ball of Stars" (26.01.2024) a concert program that enriches the evening with musical brilliance and harmony. These festive events reflect the cultural diversity and glamor of Munich's ball season, which transforms the city into a magical dance every January.

München narrisch - Munich gets colorful in February

In February, a colorful hustle and bustle awaits us again in Munich.

The "Damischen Ritter" led by Duke Kasimir, will once again lead the official Munich carnival procession on February 4, 2024. The participants make their way through the old town of Munich. They include music bands, carnival societies, dance groups and many more. It is well worth watching.

This is followed by the "Munich crazy", a Three-day street carnivalwhich lights up the pedestrian zone in the old town from Sunday to Shrove Tuesday (11 to 13 February 2024). The pedestrian zone is colorfully decorated and there are many creative costumes to see. From Stachus to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt.

Original strong beer festival from 01.03. to 24.03.2024

 

The Unique Oktoberfest feeling can only be experienced at Oktoberfest? No, you can also experience it outside the Oktoberfest period in March, namely at the Strong beer festival on the Nockherbergexperience the Oktoberfest feeling. This festival is undoubtedly a wonderful Munich tradition. In mid-March, the Paulaner am Nockherberg invites you to the original strong beer festival. For three weeks, visitors can delicious traditional strong beers from the kitchen of Florian Lechner and his team.

 

Munich Spring Festival - The "little sister" of the Oktoberfest

 

The Munich Spring Festival, also affectionately known as the "little Wiesn", invites you to the Theresienwiese from April 19 to May 5, 2024. As the little sister of the Oktoberfest, the spring festival offers visitors a folk festival experience with festival tents, over 100 showmen, fairground rides and a colorful supporting program.

In addition to the arrival of the breweries and the traditional tapping, you can expect two large beer tents, a diverse amusement park with over 100 showmen, including local vendors. The colorful supporting program includes a giant flea market of the Bavarian Red Cross, an impressive vintage car parade, two fireworks displays on Fridays and the Day of Customs with Bavarian music and dancing. The two festival halls Bayernland (Augustiner) and Hippodrom (Spaten) offer a varied musical program ranging from traditional brass bands to hits, oldies and evergreens. The spring festival combines Bavarian tradition and a family atmosphere in an entertaining mix for young and old.

 

BMW Open 2024: Tennis highlights in Munich

 

Tennis BMW Open from April 13 to 21, 2024! Experience first-class tennis in a unique atmosphere. The renowned tournament has earned an excellent reputation and allows spectators to experience the world-class professionals up close on the clay court in the English Garden. The family atmosphere and the impressive backdrop of the Munich Tennis and Tournament Club make this event a very special highlight in the sporting calendar.

Munich as the venue for EURO 2024

Munich, the largest city in Bavaria, is not only known for its historical significance, but also as the home of FC Bayern Munich. The EURO 2024 will be held in the Allianz Arena which, with a capacity of 75,024 and its striking architecture, is perfectly suited for this event. It will host the opening game as well as other exciting matches in the preliminary round, round of 16 and semi-finals.
