Munich: A big city with lake access
Munich is a capital with many facets. Casual venues, trendy shops, and cozy beer gardens make Bavaria's metropolis so popular. But the lakes for swimming are also just around the corner. After all, which other big city can claim to be only 20 minutes by car from crystal-clear water? That is exactly why a summer holiday in Munich or a longer work stay here is so popular.
Cool off instead of suffering the heat
Especially in summer, cities can be demanding for their residents. Lots of concrete reflecting the heat, humid nights, and little greenery. But anyone who has set up their office in beautiful Munich can enjoy the summer to the fullest. Whether it is Lerchenauersee, Fasaneriesee, or Feldmochinger See, digital nomads, freelancers, and of course everyone else will find the refreshment they deserve here. The so-called Three Lakes Plateau is not far from Munich and also offers lovely shady forests and plenty of sports and leisure options.
Short journey, long enjoyment
By car in 20 minutes, by bicycle in 30 minutes, and by public transport in 40 minutes, you can reach the Three Lakes Plateau. A local recreation area with three converted gravel pits, many leisure activities, and plenty of meadows, including spaces for barbecuing, awaits your visit.

The Dreiseenplatte
The three bathing lakes were excavated by gravel extraction in the 1930s. The resulting pits were filled by groundwater, which ensures consistently high water quality and plenty of bathing pleasure.
Tip
Fasaneriesee was specially flattened at the edges so that it is particularly suitable for children and non-swimmers.
If you like to recharge your batteries in a sporty way, the three lakes are perfect for you. Whether football, volleyball, table tennis, or a fitness trail, there is certainly no shortage of activities. On the large meadow you can kick a ball, play frisbee, or pursue other sports hobbies to your heart's content. Even four-legged companions were taken into account, with a separate area for dogs to run around. Dogs are not allowed into the lake itself.
Culinarily, you do not have to make many compromises on a day at the lake either. In the beer garden, you can strengthen your tired limbs under the pleasantly cool shade of the trees. For those in a hurry, there is also a kiosk stocked with all kinds of treats. And if you prefer to do the cooking yourself, you are allowed to set up your grill on the meadow around Feldmochinger See.
